Chinese Temple, Bodhgaya
The Chinese Temple of Bodhgaya is one of the Buddha Temples within the vicinity of Mahabodhi Temple. The Chinese Temple and Monastery, Bodhgaya stands at about one hundred meters northwest of the Mahabodhi Temple. It is a stunning piece of architecture built by Chinese monks in collaboration with the China Government. The temple is an excellent illustration of the amalgamation of the Chinese architecture with religion.
The Chinese Monastery houses three beautiful golden statues of Lord Buddha. The statue of Buddha in the Chinese temple is more than 200 years old and is brought from China. You can also read and view the different scriptures on spirituality by Chinese scholars and monks inside the temple. The Chinese Temple in Bodhgaya is open from 7 AM to 7 PM daily. Buddha Jayanti, one of the most important festivals of Buddhists, is celebrated every year in this temple. Thousands of monks and followers of Buddha from across the globe come here to partake in the holy celebration.
