Seven Sisters Waterfalls (also known as the Nohsngithiang Falls or Mawsmai Falls) is 1 km south of Mawsmai village in East Khasi Hills, near Cherrapunji. The Seven Sisters Waterfalls are the fourth highest waterfalls in India. Since the Waterfalls flow only during the months of the monsoon, it is recommended to tourists to visit these Falls only during the months of July to September.
Although Meghalaya is home to several of the India's most magnificent waterfalls, the Seven Sisters Waterfall stand out, not just because of the sheer height from which the water falls, but also because of the effect of seven streams converging over a cliff to give the most splendid view of the scrubby-green hill, overlooking the great plains of Bangladesh. The look of this waterfall, with its lush, green hill, provides you with a sense of tranquil and peace like none other.
