Mullayanagiri Peak

With a height of 1,930 metres (6,330 ft), it is the highest peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris. Mullayanagiri is one of the best trekking places in Karnataka and South India. The Sunset presents a spectacular view from the peak. The summit of Mullayanagiri also houses a police radio relay station. Nature lovers will love this place and it's awesome to hangout at the top. The wildlife sanctuary is called so after the Bhadra River which flows through the lush forests. The lush green vegetation of the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary consists of mostly moist and dry deciduous forests. More than 120 species of trees grow here, which include Teak, Rosewood, Mathi, Honne, Nandi, Tadasalu and Kindal. The wildlife safari in Bhadra is conducted by River Tern Lodge in their jeeps. There is no safari undertaken by the Government. There are two time slots when this safari can be taken - morning(6:30 AM) and evening (4:30 PM).

Hebbe Falls is located about 8 km from the picturesque hill station Kemmangundi, a summer retreat of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. Hebbe Falls is surrounded by dense forests and coffee plantations, Hebbe Falls gushes down from a height of 168 meters in two stages to form Dodda Hebbe (Big Falls) and Chikka Hebbe (Small Falls.) Hebbe Falls is a perfect retreat from the busy city life and it is one of the must visit tourist spots in Karnataka.

Shankar Falls at Chikmagalur

Shankar Falls

The waterfall is in the midst of thick coffee bushes and tall trees entwined with pepper vines, settled on the outskirts of Chikmagalur. The walkway leading to the waterfalls is confusions and challenging but it's a must try as the waterfalls is simply great and kids friendly. One need to cross a small waters stream to reach the waterfalls. One must walk close to get a good view of the falls. The best time to visit will be during the monsoon when the waterfalls in full gush and also during the beginning of winter.
