" While I have been to Tiger Hill many times to experience the sunrise, I have also been there several times during the day and enjoyed as much. Tiger Hill is located 11km (6.8 miles) from Darjeeling town and above Ghoom. It's the highest point in Darjeeling hills at an altitude of 8482 feet (or 2590 meters). The best season to see the dazzling snow covered peaks as the sun rises is between Mid October to December. March to April is also a good time. "

"Tiger hill is the place in Darjeeling where people clamour to get a view of the sunrise. People are ready to bear the daunting cold weather as early as 4 am in the morning to watch the sunrise. BUT, it is so heavily hyped that it is overly crowded and it reminds of a mela which huge crowd that is so noisy and the chances of one getting the view is highly dependent on the weather the previous day. However, the weather in Darjeeling is highly unpredictable that you just cross your fingers before you leave. One can view the Tiger hills even after the sunrise (say at around 11am to 2pm) once there is not much crowd so that one can enjoy the natural beauty in peace and in an undisturbed environment. The drive to the place is amazing. Foggy, greenery everywhere. It is also quite annoying that the center that attracts thousands of people per day doesnt even mention that the center is closed for renovation. People go all the way up there to find it is closed! Unless you want to push and shove against the number of people there to watch the sunrise, you can view it after the chaos in a clear morning. Ask the locals and they will tell you it it is every worth visiting the place at that point in time. Good luck!"

"Amazing place to see sunrise. How the sun can rise colorfully that can only be seen from this place but if there is excessive fog that might be a bad luck for you. There is a saying that Rabindranath Tagore tried to see the view for several times but can not. So its upon your luck....."
