The ancient Girnar hill stands tall at 3672 feet. The hill is covered with 866 Hindu and Jain temples making it important pilgrimage for both the Jains and the Hindus. It has five main peaks Ambaji, Gorakhnath, Dattatreya, Oghad Anasuya and Kalka. Goraknath is the highest with the height of 1117.4 meters and the lowest is at 197.5 meters. 

Climbing up the Girnar hill in the early morning light is enthralling and blissful experience that stays with tourist as a memory throughout life. The trail begins 4km east of the city at Girnar Taleti. Places that one will come across on a trek to Girnar Hill are Domdar Kund, Bhavnath Temple where one can see naked sadhus that come to celebrate Shivratri, Kalika, where one can see Aghora sadhus covered from head to toe with the funeral ashes, and various other temples along with the panoramic view of the hill. People who are looking for a little adventure can visit for the breath-taking view of the scenery and the architecture of the temples, along with trek over the mountains older than the Himalayas!
