The temple is situated in the heart of the city. The temple has a major significance among the Hindus. Baps Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is one of the oldest temples of Junagadh, Gujarat. The land on which shrine stands still was gifted by Jinabhai, Darbar of Panchala (King Hemant Singh) and was built by Swaminarayan himself.

On May 1, 1828, A.D., Swaminarayan himself established the idols of Shri Ranchhodrai and Trikamrai, Radharaman Devand Harikrishna Maharaj, Siddheswar Mahadev Parvati Ganesha and Nandishwar. The Swaminarayan temple has a circumference on 278 ft and has a great architecture. The place is surrounded with dharamshalas and well maintained beautiful gardens. In the morning you can enjoy the incredible panorama of the sun rising from the Girnar hills. It is a very peaceful and a beautiful place, surrounded by trees making it more divine.
