Brindavan Garden

#Garden in Mysore

Built across the Cauvery river with the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam in hindsight, the Brindavan Gardens are one of the prime tourist attractions in Mysore. The Gardens were built by Sir Mirza Ismail. The topiaries, gazebos and water fountains adorn the landscape of these gardens, adding to the beauty of it.

The Brindavan Gardens are terraced, making each level stand out by itself. The garden hosts a light and sound show after sunset, making the experience surreal. Boat rides on the peaceful and tranquil lake are a favourite among the visitors. A botanical park is also present on the premises. Several species of flora are exhibited here. There are also fruit orchards and horticulture farms adjoining the gardens. The Brindavan Gardens provide for a perfect evening, with the beautiful sunset topping it off. If you are anywhere near the Gardens, it would be a wise choice to visit here.

"Another must-do for the Mysore city visitor/tourist. Any time is good time to visit other than monsoons. Good part about this place is that it provides a totally different view in daylight and at night time. Open till late evenings, it provides regular sound-and-light fountain shows , boat rides, eateries etc. Parking can be a pain at times. Don't miss the local fish delicacies on the outskirts if you are prefer."

"Nice garden but overrated. We have better gardens in Jammu. :P Fountain show was good but the speakers were horrible. Over crowded on weekend. Never trust the parking guys when they say that they will give 5rs when you return. They will start misbehaving. "

"The place is just another usual garden trying to maximise its commercial gains from excessive marketing. The place is dirty and not well organised. The musical fountains supposed to be its speciality, is not great. Its small and the people there behave like child trying to capture the videos through their phones and selfie sticks surrounding the already small fountain from all sides. The ferry is not wortg its money and wait. Please go to other places like Indira garden in Bangalore, if you really want to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and musical fountains."

"The garden is far away from city. It is so crowded, we went there by evening there was no proper lighting. You have to watch your steps. I just liked fish stall outside brindawan garden.. the fish fry make it worth."

"It's probably the best place to watch out with a gang in Mysore.! The ample time to watch is between 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm..scenaries are pretty good..the lightings after 7 pm is really cool to watch..the only concern is the musical dance after 8 pm which is not that worth to watch.. apart from that, its a very cool place to go for!"
