Ambazari Lake is located on the southwest border of Nagpur. It is also one of the most popular and visited lakes out of the 11 lakes present. It is the largest lake in the city and is a home to a variety of flora and fauna. It is a beautiful place to visit and enjoy along with friends and family members. The entire area is managed by the Municipal Corporation of Nagpur. It is spread over an area of 15.4 km. The lake marks the beginning of the Nag River. The visitors are also provided boating facilities at the lake. Rowboats, as well as self-driven boats, are available for the visitors to enjoy the scenic beauty of the nature surrounding the lake. Beside the Ambazari Lake lies the Ambazari Garden which is famous amongst the children. The garden also comprises of a fountain, electric rides and various amusement games for the kids as well as the elderly to enrich the experience of whosoever visits the place.

Futala Lake sometimes known as Telankhedi Lake, located in the western area of Nagpur about 6kms from the city center. Built by Raje Bhosle, the Futala Lake known for its charming atmosphere and colored fountains is the favorite hangout of all age groups. It is a wonderful picnic spot visited by numerous people daily. It looks stunning in the evening with the imposing illumination of colored halogen lights. From here, one can get a spectacular sunset view over the mountain across the lake. The lake is surrounded by lush green forest on the 3 sides and the beautiful landscaped chow-patty on one side. The newly constructed pathway with granite stone paving, landscaping beams, garden bays, decorative lamps, benches, three floating fountains – two colored fountains of 15 feet and one white and fountain of 100 feet, immersion Ghats with three ramps on South side and the guard wall of lake with sand beach on North side etc, makes the lake one of the most attractive tourist spot in the city.

Shukravari Talao (lake) was once known as the Jumma Talab, is also referred to as Gandhi sagar Lake in the present times. With boating facilities, A Ganesh temple, huge stone walls around, tall lustrous trees makes for a wholesome experience. The Lake which is said to be subsisting for more than 275 years was established as a source of water supply by Chand Sultan. He created the water body in the form of streams being diverted to the Nag River, which was connected to the water reservoir and named it as ‘Jumma Talab’. During the Bhonsla and British periods when the first Raghuji declared Nagpur as the capital of his domain in 1742 then subsequently it came to be known as ‘Shukrawari Talao’. The picturesque rectangular shaped Gandhi Sagar reservoir is now enclosed with stonewalls and iron railings. In the middle of the lake one can also found a small island with an attractive Shiva temple and a garden. The lake looks more attractive in the night by the illumination of the yellow mercury light. The lake also offers boating facility to the visitors.
