Close to the temple, there are four caves which are believed to be the meditation site of saint Padmasambhava. These were the caves from where Guru Padmasambhava gave disclosure to his followers. To experience the scenic beauty, boating attracts people from distant places during summer while the frozen lake in winter becomes hub for ice skating.

Nako Monastery or Gompa is the witness of iconography of well developed & established Vajranya Buddhists in India. The entrance gate of the monastery is also decorated and engraved with patterns. The complex of Monastery comprises of 4 ancient temples, that bounds the Nako Lake. These temples are in an enclosure that has been built with mud walls. There are various clay and metallic idols, stupas, various religious instruments and collection of Buddha scriptures (Kangyur) containing the direct teaching of Lord Buddha.
