Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

#Gurudwara in Delhi

The Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi is one of the prime places of worship for the Sikh. The 8th Sikh guru, Guru Har Kishan Singh is said to have cured people infected with smallpox and cholera, with giving them water from a tank. That tank still exists today inside the premises of the gurudwara.

Originally a bungalow owned by Raja Jai Singh, this place of worship attracts thousands of visitors today. According to the protocols of the gurudwara, an individual's hair must be covered and he must be shoeless. There are people who assist tourists with head scarves. Proper toilet and parking facilities are available. This place looks art its absolute best at night, when brilliant lighting illuminates the structure of the gurudwara. Known as one of the holiest sites of pilgrimage for the Sikhs, people should definitely miss out on a visit to this destination.

"My favourite place in Delhi. Sophisticated. Dignified. Full of purity. The pond inside is full of various fishes. There's separate area for male and females to get bath in its pioused water. Don't forget to savour Langar and kadha prasad. It's yum."

"I have no words to describe.. Just go and visit.. evening hours are mostly recommended.. Visit the place..sit down there for a while.. It's peaceful.. I listen those bhakti songs they sing.. mostly I cry silently..then do some work over there.. maybe in lunger.. or in drinking water distribution area or in shoe stands..I sit there nearby the pool area.. It's worth feeling every bit of your emotion..Go there and spend some time.. Only you know what you feel..Apne shraddha chadhao wahan.. nothing else is required..Go and experience.. It will definitely sooth your heart, mind and soul..I will be keep visiting every possible day."
