"The top attraction of Palakkad town. Built by Tippu Sultan, the fort stands strong and well preserved even today. The Hanuman Temple inside the fort is pretty famous and gets crowded on week ends. There's about 3 kms of walkaway for people to take a walk on, the areas are well preserved by the Mulcipality and its a free walk, timings apply. Inside the fort you can roam around on the ramparts, there's the Dist Supply Officers office and also the Palakkad Prison. Worth half a days excursion, best time is in the mornings or evenings."

"A short walk from anywhere in the city. Worth a visit to see the moat and walk around the fort walls. There's actually a police station inside the fort ! There's a children's park nearby and a well laid jogging path taking you around the moat in the surrounding grounds. "
