Situated in the dead centre of the city of Shillong, Wards Lake is a popular tourist attraction. This lake is also known as Pollock’s Lake. It is an artificial lake shaped like a horse-shoe, ornamented by extensive floral beds, dense trees and a wooden bridge.

You can feed the fishes in the lake by standing on the wooden bridge built across it. Either side of the lake has lotus flowers over a wide stretch. Boating on the pristine clear waters is another leisure activity enjoyed here. Walking on the cobble stoned footpath makes you feel closer to nature. Or you can simply lay down and enjoy the serene environments of this beautiful lake. Wards Lake is a hit among tourists, honeymooners and picnickers.
