The Nokrek National Park in Tura, Meghalaya, is home to some of the most beautiful, and endangered flora and fauna of the region, the most famous being the Red Panda, Asiatic elephants, pig-tailed macaque, the marbled cat, and tigers among others. The Park has also been listed among UNESCO’s list of Biosphere Reserves since 2009.

The biodiversity of this National Park is one of its major attractions, and the endangered animals are kept under strict security, which provides them a safe habitat. The Park has a hilly terrain, with many important rivers of Meghalaya having their origins in the Nokrek Hills, the most important one being the Someshwari or the Simsang River. In the Park, there is the Rongbang Dare Waterfall, which offers one of the most magnificent scenic views you will ever see.
