Ancient Bhartrihari Caves

#Cave in Ujjain

The Ancient Bhartrihari Caves are located on the bank of River Shipra, near to the Gadkalika temple. There is a conventional belief that at this very spot, Bhartrihari, who is known as the progression sibling of Vikramaditya, lived and ruminated before spurning common delights.

These underground caves are one of the excellent places to visit in Ujjain. The caves are famous for deep down caves of Gopinath Ji. Not to mention there is a lot of humidity and suffocation in there so do wait for the crowd to disperse.

"It's quite peaceful and also quite humid in the caves. Before long, you will be covered in sweat and begging to come out. The opening of the caves is big enough for a single person to pass at a time and photography is frowned upon."
