The water of this lake is considered very pious due to its significance in the Sikh and Hindu religions. You can find a temple dedicated to Lakshmana as well as Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara on the banks of the lake. You will be required to trek for approximately 6 hours to reach to this location. The trek is a simple one but requires fitness. A stream known as Himganaga also flows out of the Lake.
