Paan in Banaras
Paan or betel leaf is mouth freshener in Indian subcontinent. Paan is the specialty of Banaras. Banarasi Meetha (sweet) paan is the most famous of all the variety of Paans available in India. The stuffing of the banarasi meetha paan includes Saunf, elaichi beads, gulkand, sugary cherries, roasted scrapped coconut, some crushed areca nuts, cloves, tutty fruity, dried rose petals, camphor powder, colourful sugar balls, some slaked lime paste and mouth-freshening gels.
