  • Boating in Lake Pichola

    The Pichola Lake is one the most beautiful place to visit in Udaipur. A visit to Udaipur is incomplete without a boat cruise in Lake Pichola. Watch the lake glimmer during the beautiful sunset as you pass Udaipur's illuminated skyline dotted with mansions during the boat ride. It is a fun and safe activity in Udaipur as full safety measures are taken during the ride. The boats are basically of the pontoon boats with 10-12 rows of six seats sectioned down in the middle. The boat first makes its way towards the old city, circling the famous Lake Palace Hotel on Jag Niwas Island. It then precedes to Jag mandir Island. There are varieties of boat rides such as Regular boat ride costing Rs 400 - Rs200, sunset boat ride costs Rs 700- Rs 400. The boat charter gives you one hour ride in the Lake Pichola and the Cargo boat ride costs Rs 4000.

  • Udaipur City Palace

    Udaipur City Palace towering over the Lake Pichola is one of the architectural marvels of Rajasthan. City Palace is the most visited tourist attraction of Udaipur. It is the largest palace in Rajasthan. It reflects a perfect blend of medieval, European and Chinese Architecture. The palace has balconies, cupolas and towers that give a wonderful view of the lake and the surrounding city. The complex consists of four major and several minor palaces. The main part of the complex is converted into the City Palace Museum that displays ancient artifacts. The Krishna Vila, Moti Mahal or Pearl Palace, Sheesh Mahal, Bada Mahal, Zenana mahal are some of the other palaces in the complex. Amar Vilas is the highest point of this palace and has wonderful hanging gardens with fountains, towers and terraces. City Palace has also amazing interiors with delicate mirror work and marble work. You can also trace a shrine of Dhuni Mata in the City Palace. The beauty of City palace cannot be bound in words , so one must visit this Palace to capture the real picture of it.

  • Fateh Sagar Lake

    Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake in Udaipur named after Maharana Fateh Singh. It is said to be the pride of the city of lakes. It is located in the north of the Pichola lake. It lies just beside the entrance to Moti Magri Hill. Fateh Sagar Lake is well planned with three intake channels. It is embellished by three small islands which can be reached by taking a boat ride in the lake. The largest island is developed into a park by the name of Nehru Park. The garden comprises a boat-shaped restaurant and a zoo for children. This island is the favorite picnic spot in Udaipur. The second island is converted into a public park with great water jet fountains. The third island is called Udaipur Solar Observatory, which is the best solar observing site in Asia. You can also hire pedal boats or motor boats to enjoy a boat ride in the lake. Every year a festival called the Hariyali Amavasya Mela is organized at the lake precincts, in the month of Shravan.

  • Monsoon Palace

    The Monsoon Palace, formerly known as the Sajjan Garh Palace named after Maharan Sajjan Singh is perched on top of Bansdara Mountain peak like a fairy tale castle in Udaipur. Originally, it was an astronomical centre later it became a monsoon palace and hunting lodge. The Monsoon Palace is located at such an altitude that it presents a magnificent views of Lake Pichola, Aravalli mountains, and surrounding countryside. Visitors stream up here for the marvelous views, particularly at sunset. The Palace reflects the rich culture and history of Mewar kingdom. At the foot of the hill, Sajjan Garh Wildlife Sanctuary encircles the palace. It is a Safari Park with many wild animals like Chita, Sambar, Wild Boar, Blue bull etc. There is also an artificial lake called Bari Lake or Tiger Lake.     Bagore ki Haveli is located right on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. The massive palace has hundreds of rooms that display costumes and modern art. The splendid architecture of the mansion boasts of delicately carved work and excellent glass work. The Haveli looks marvelous with glowing lights in the night. The interiors of the Haveli are decorated with intricate and fine mirror work. While moving in the Haveli, you can see the private quarters of the royal ladies, their bathrooms, dressing rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, worship room and recreation rooms. The Haveli also has a gallery section displaying some great period photos of Udaipur and a bizarre collection of famous monuments of the world made by polystyrene.
