                        “Gladly sell kept by tourism and forest dept in a joint effort. There is a user fee. Vazhachal is more of rapids than a fall. But offers many scenic vistas. Shortly after, the river plunges down and that is called athirapalli falls. The access is from same entry. You will have to trek downhill to the bottom level to see it in full glory. While the trek route is laned with seats n rails, the return uphill is a task for many of us who are not accustomed to inclines It’s a must visit in central Kerala and attract more regional crowd than visitors from North or foreigners ”

                            Chalakudy River also called as Chalakudy Puzha is one of the major rivers in Kerala State of India. River flows through Palakkad district, Thrissur District and Ernakulam District of Kerala and is the fourth longest river in the state with a length of 145.5 km. The river though has its origin in the Anamalai region of Tamil Nadu, is actually a collection of some major tributaries originated from Parambikulam, Kuriyarkutti, Sholayar, Kara Para and Anakkayam in Kerala. It merges with the Periyar River near Puthenvelikkara, adjacent to Manjali, North Paravur in Ernakulam District. The ever flowing Chalakudy river is so inviting and so cool that one will really love to be soaked for hours. The so crystal looking water flowing across the rocks is good to see and hear.

                            The Pisharikkal Bhagavathy temple is an ancient Amman temple that has been there for more than 1000 years and situated in Chalakudy, Kerala. This temple is known as it has been showcased under the list of 108 Goddesses Durga temples in the state of Kerala. Amid March – April, the yearly celebration is commended in the terrific way to be specific Meenam. This celebration initiates upon the arrival of Makayiram and closures at Arattu. “Thalappoli” is the huge celebration celebrated in this temple that young ladies holds the plate having oil light, blooms, turmeric and so forth on the Atham day of the celebration. The temple holds two main God statues that are Vanadurga and Bhagavathy. Generally, all the devotees used to mention this divine god as “Bhadrakali Amman.” This temple is completely surrounded by divine aura everywhere.

It is windy all the time, so overall a good place to spend an evening. The Sholayar dam is a vital reservoir under the Parambikulam Aliyar Project and has a water storage capacity of 160 ft (49 m). The reservoir’s overflowing waters are let into the Parambikulam Reservoir through the saddle dam. It is constructed by a team who was working under K Palanisamy, the most popular engineer in that area. Lovely place for a picnic surrounded by hills. The roads are winding and great drive up in the hills.
