A major tourist hotspot in the Nilgiri Hills is the Catherine Falls, a double cascaded waterfall leaving you dumb founded. There are two part of the falls, known as the two steps – the lower and upper falls falling down from an unbelievable height. It is named after the wife of a MD Cockburn.

The falls is locally known as the Geddhehaada Halla, meaning the Foothills Dale River. From Dolphin’s nose, you can get a stunning sight of the falls, which will be etched in your memory forever. The falls is surrounded by green peaks topped with a hint of white mist, dense forests and rolling Mettupalayam plains. Driving through pine forests and the lush greenery to reach the falls is a memorable experience in itself.
