Lying on the foot of the Pushpagiri hill ranges in the small Bettadahalli gram panchayat is the Mallali falls, attracting tourists from across the country and the world. It is located in the north of Coorg, 26 km away from Somwarpet along with the enormously thick forests, fruit orchards hearted in the thick vegetation, and coffee plantations. The white foaming waters of the Mallali falls 60 km in two tiers forming a spellbinding vista. There is an entry fee charged for visiting the fall.
The government has made the area more assailable and the Mallali trek, the associated trek with the Mallali falls has also been helpful to reach the seasonal falls at ease. The trek is easy and is loved by new trekkers for the easy trail and experienced ones for the panoramic view. Small streams steeping down the stony way mark the trail to Mallali falls, the initial stage of Kumardhara river. It takes 3-4 hours in all for the trekking and sightseeing, and the visiting hours extend from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The best time to trek destined at Mallali falls is from June to December.
