Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is located 12 km from Dalhousie at an average elevation of 2500 meters above sea level. Activities like forest trailing, wildlife safari, picnics and nature walks are open for visitors of all ages. The thick forested zone also plays host to a variety of bird species, including migratory birds. The small 3 km trek to the hill will led you to the most picturesque view of the region. There is also a floating island on a small water body which is mystic and legendary. The best months to visit are September to March when you can enjoy a velvety meadow with a view of snow-clad Pir Panjal Range.
