One of the most popular beaches in Dapoli, Harnai is a long flat beach visited by many fish lovers. The beach is unlike many other beaches and is a mainly fishing port along with the most active beach. You can reach here from Dapoli or from Karde-Murud. Every evening hundreds of fishing boats come back to the village after fishing and gather to auction their catch. You can witness this auction daily between 4 pm to 7 pm which is an inspiring experience and you could also hitch a ride in a bullock cart here. You can also visit the Kanakdurg fort with a lighthouse offering splendid views of the ocean, Suvarnadurg fort and the fishing village. Kanakdurg spread over half an acre is adjacent to the Harnai port and projects into the sea. Visit the historic Suvarnadurg fort which is looming in the horizons on the northern side and and enjoy a boat ride too.

Karde beach is nearer to Murud Beach in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The less crowd on the beach makes it more peaceful and clean.
