New Digha is an expansion of Digha. It too has numerous hotels. There is a little park with a lake here. Its nearness to Calcutta (187 kms) draw tourists all through the year. Digha is a stiff beach where one can drive during little tide. The beach is though in front of the trouble of sea corrosion. New Digha beach is the extension of the old Digha Beach and was earlier known as “Breekul”. It is just 2kms from Digha and also famous for having a real paradise Environment.

The beach has vast stretches of green paddy fields and blue hills. The beach with its tall coconut trees, palm trees and Casuarina make for a beautiful sight. Witnessing sunrise and sunset from a gleaming stretch of white sand is a rewarding experience. Another feature of Talsari that fascinates tourists is its backwaters, which one needs to cross to reach the sea. The calm ambiance, unique receding waters and tropical weather all year round make it a popular destination for adventure seekers and those looking for solitude.

This is a spectacular beach, almost virgin, 2 km west of Digha, in West Bengal Orissa Border. One part of this clandestine beach is in West Bengal and the other in Orissa. This beach has not been explored so far. The beach has some USPs which have to be experienced to be believed. The vegetation, typical of slopes in Eastern Ghats and the great Casuarina atmosphere, makes this beach, a one of a kind experience.

Shankarpur is a virgin beach town located 14 km east of Digha in West Bengal. It is also a regular fishing harbour. The mornings are cool, when fishermen can be seen hauling their huge nets out of the sea. The morning sun reflecting on the sea waves in the east, and the local fishing boats on the coast offer excellent photographic opportunities. Shankarpur contains has a number of temples.

MARC has largest inbuilt marine aquarium in the country and equipped with sea water circulation system and advanced filtration unit. The aquarium has 24 big sized (15x10x10’) marine tanks and 8 fresh water (3x2x2’) tanks which are equipped with compressed air supply, light and regulated supply of inflow & outflow of water. Hundreds of visitors make it a point to view the Aquarium every day. The aquarium is opened to public on all working days from 9.30 A.M. to 6 P.M.

It is an old Siva Temple, 8 km. from Digha. Also Lankeswari (14 km.) and Kapal Kundala Temple (45 km.) famous for an antique temple related with Bankimchandra’s novel Kapal Kundala. In the month of Chaitra i.e., in the last month of Bengali calendar year, an annual fair is organised around this temple. Pilgrims from all over the country, especially from Orissa, Bengal, Bihar come to this fair. There are bus/rickshaw services from Digha to Chandaneswar. Apart from this, Kolkata-Chandaneswar, Howrah-Balasore, Digha-Baripada buses ply via Chandaneswar.
