Baralacha Pass-Where the roads meet with stories

#Sight Seeing in Keylong

Known for its snow-covered landscape and haunted stories, Baralacha La (or Baralacha Pass) is a high mountain pass in the Zanskar range which connects Lahaul district in Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir.

The pass is considered to be one of the most perilous passes due to heavy snowfall which covers the entire area and creates a beautiful picturesque landscape of the snow-capped cliffs. Baralacha Pass is located at an elevation of 4890 meters where three mountain ranges Pir Panjal, Zanskar and the Himalayas meet and create a magical scenery. It also creates a natural divide between Bhaga and Yunam rivers. The best time to visit is April to October. The entire area is a perfect campsite and has good eateries offering Tibetan cuisines.
