As per the anecdotes, Dogpa Lama Serzang Rinchen of Khar region pointed the place as blessed and named it as Tayul that is the chosen one. The gompa is decorated with murals and houses Thankas which depict the life of Buddha. There is a 12 feet statue of Guru Padmasambhava besides the famous manifestations of Singhpunkha and Vajravahi. The exotic feature is the famous 100 million Mani wheels which sometimes turn itself and are considered pious. There is also a collection of 101 Buddhist sculptures of the Kangyur which are a must watch.
