Dakshineswar Kali Temple is a famous Hindu temple, dedicated to Goddess Kali. Sprawled over 25 acres, the Dakshineshwar Mandir Kolkata is one the largest temple in Kolkata. The famous temple is built in the ‘Nava -Ratna’ style of Bengal architecture with 12 spired temples with massive courtyards flanked by 12 other small temples. The temple was founded by Rani Rashmoni after she got a dream to do so.

The famous spiritual leader Ramakrishna Paramhansa is also associated with this temple. Tuesdays and Saturdays are believed as an auspicious day for Kali worship. On both these days, there is a huge congregation of devotees at the Dakshineswar Kali Temple. The Sandhya Aarti and the Dakshineshwar Mandir Bhog are the prime attraction among the devotees. The twelve identical shrines of Shiva each housing black stone Shiv Lingas adorn the premise of Dakshineswar Temple.
