Sarovaram Biopark in Kozhikode

Sarovaram Biopark is the only eco-friendly biopark in Kerala promoting the conservation of mangrove forests and wetlands. The biopark is located right at the heart of the city. The canal walkway, boating facilities, Otter Park, Butterfly Park, bird sanctuary, aquarium, floating rafts, board-walk, park/ musical fountain, open air theatre are popular attractions here.
The park is situated adjacent to Canoly Canal. The project has been developed with an eco-friendly theme and is located in an ecosystem consisting of wetlands and mangrove forests containing bird habitats.

                        “Good place for morning walks in the city, good greenery, well maintained. They had boating as well, but it is mostly closed other than during some specific seasons. The inner jogging tracks are good, and lot of trees and benches makes early morning jogs around the park a good experience”

                            Two streams originating from the Western Ghats meet here to form the Chalippuzha River. The river diverges into three waterfalls creating a snowy spray, which gives the name, ‘Thusharagiri’. The word Thusharagiri means the snow-capped mountain. Of the three, the highest waterfall is the Thenpara that falls from an altitude of 75 metres (246 ft). [1] Thusharagiri offers endless scope for trekking, rock climbing and wild life sanctuary visits.

                            Sarovaram Biopark is the only eco-friendly biopark in Kerala promoting the conservation of mangrove forests and wetlands. The biopark is located right at the heart of the city. The canal walkway, boating facilities, Otter Park, Butterfly Park, bird sanctuary, aquarium, floating rafts, board-walk, park/ musical fountain, open air theatre are popular attractions here. The park is situated adjacent to Canoly Canal. The project has been developed with an eco-friendly theme and is located in an ecosystem consisting of wetlands and mangrove forests containing bird habitats.

                            Mishkal Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Kerala. It is located in Kuttichira, a part of Thekkepuram region in Kozhikode city. In 1510, the mosque was partially burned in a Portuguese attack. This entirely wooden mosque is simply breathtaking to see especially from the other side of the tank. The big Kuttichira tank is attached to the mosque. The mosque has 47 doors, 24 carved pillars and a big prayer hall that can accommodate 400 people. Copulas and minarets seems to be absent because the mosque built like a temple. The prayer hall is well ventilated and there is a wooden mimbar with beautiful motifs.
