Tsokar lake is situated near Thugje village and has camping sites, home stays etc. It is one of the most beautiful lake you will ever seen. It is smallest of all three high altitude alpine lakes in ladakh region. Although to reach there is bit challenging.

The place is extremely pictursque and bereft of humdrum of cities. A great spot for nature lovers and photographers. You may spot wild animals near the lake. This used to be a source of raw salt for people of Ladakh a few years back is the reason its called White Lake.

Special in Tso Kar Lake: There aren’t much people around so perfect place for soulful talk to yourself.

                            The Zanskar River is a north-flowing tributary of the Indus. In its upper reaches, the Zanskar has two main branches. Lower (northern) sections of that gorge are popular in summer with tourists making rafting trips, typically from Chiling to Nimmu. In winter when the road to Zanskar is closed by snow on the high passes, the only overland route to Padum is by walking along the frozen river, a multi-day hike that is now sold as an adventure activity called the Chadar (‘ice sheet’) Trek.

The Hall of Fame houses a lot of photographs, weapons, memorabilia and stories of the encounters of so many brave-hearts who lost their lives and became martyrs, to the cause of the freedom of the country. The walls have the name of the soldiers who sacrificed in the war. Other articles such as wallets, letters and other items recovered are also on display.

There are even rumours that the whole structure could be demolished to create a shopping centre. So see it while you can. Even from the outside the site is worth a look.
