The Spread Eagle Falls is the widest waterfall in Shillong. Located in the Shillong Cantonment Area, this waterfall is a popular tourist attraction flocked by locals as well. It makes up for an ideal picnic spot. Spread Eagle falls is surrounded by towering mountains on 3 sides, giving the impression of an Eagle with its wings spread.

The waterfall itself is surrounded by verdant green forests. The water gushes down the steep rugged terrain into a gentle slope which eventually transforms into a pool of water. The water is cool and crystal clear. You can have a ball time here in the pool, splashing around and clicking memorable pictures. Or you can just sit back and view the nature in its glory with the serene waters, the mighty waterfall and the lush greenery behind. This destination makes up for an enchanting experience. Since the Spread Eagle Falls is located in the Cantonment Area, the cab drivers might not readily agree to take you there.
