You can walk up and down on the Mall road slowly and enjoy the nature while sipping their favourite coffee. There is a lot of gathering at the Ridge and Scandal point on Mall road of Shimla and have the chit chat with their friends, and can have the beautiful view of the Himalayan range and to do shopping. The Road is connected to the Ridge at the Scandal point, where a statue of leader Lala Lajpat Rai has been carved out. Mall Road is open all days of the week from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Jakhoo Temple

The Jakhu or Jakhoo Temple is a very popular and important tourist spot in Shimla, 2455m above sea level. It holds extreme mythological significance and is believed to be dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the Hindu deity. As we know, Shimla is built on the seven hills, Jakhu temple is situated on the Jakhu hill, hence the name. It is 2.5 km from the Ridge near the Mall road. The Jakhu ropeway, which is essentially a cable car is available to reach the temple. It has a huge Hanuman statue which is considered as the world’s tallest statue (108 feet) and was built in 2010. It is surrounded by beautiful trees, greenery and scenic beauty. A little park is there near Jakhu now for the kids to play around. People often also have picnics here as it is the perfect place for it. Interestingly, there are a lot of monkeys all around the temple which often scares the public, but they do not harm in any way. You can also hire a stick for the same! It is a must visit place for all the devotees and nature lovers as it is absolutely breath-taking.

The Kalka-Shimla Toy train is a narrow gauge train that runs from Kalka to Shimla at a stretch of 90kms climbing more than 4800fts. On its routes, it crosses 103 tunnels, 800 bridges, and 900 curves. There are around 20 stations dotted along the route. The train runs through steep mountains, so it goes at the very slow pace which gives plenty of time for boarders to enjoy the beauty of the nature passing by. The train slowly moves way upward from Kalka to Shimla, through mountains, waterfalls, tunnels and pine forests, passing by the jungles wild flowers and astonishing bridges. This scene is breathtaking. There are regular trains that run from Kalka to Shimla with a different time schedule, you can check out the timings from Indian Railways website and enjoy your journey. Once you are there you will feel like a king and a queen with a little kingdom to possess. One can enjoy the cool weather, the warm hospitality, the fresh breeze; the sun kissed hills, pine, and oak and deodar trees and probably feels envy of the locals.

IIAS was originally built as the home for Lord Duffein. The Much historic decision has been taken here.
