(Trek to Chandrakhani Pass)

Chandrakhani Pass in Kullu region, is one of the most beautiful and serene pass, at an altitude of 3660m. Chandrakhani Pass offers fabulous views of the Deo Tibba peak, Pir Panjal and Parvati range of mountains. The trek route of Chandrakhani Pass is one of the most beautiful trails that introduces the traveler to the remote, hilly cultures of Himachal Pradesh.

Pick up – Manali Taxi Stand

Basecamp of Tour: Naggar

Itinerary / Tour Plan

Day 1 – Naggar-Rumsu-Naya Thapru- 2200 Meters (4-6 hours)

7:00am – Early morning pick from Manali Taxi Stand 

9:00am – After a short orientation about the trek and adventures in the tour, we will have the breakfast halt at Naggar and will visit the famous castle, old pagoda temple of Tripura Sundari and Roerich Art Gallery. From the village of Naggar, the trek begins with a gradual ascent upto Rumsu. The path is through forested cover of pine, Deodar, and Chestnut.

Climb is steep and tiring until we reach our campsite with plenty of availability of wood and a nearby water stream. We camp here tonight among beautiful green pastures. The night will be full of energy with bonfire, music and camping meals.

Day 2 – Naya Thapru – Chandrakhani Base Camp (4-6 hours)

9:00 am – We will start our trek after breakfast and will begin the trek. It’s a beautiful camping site surrounded by forest with a small patch of grass in between. The entire trek till Chandrakhani Base camp that is almost 6-7 Kms from Rumsu is uphill. Most of it is through the jungle which blocks the view on both sides. There are some open patches in between but most of it is through the dense forest till you reach the base camp.

3:00pm -The campsite is  a view to behold, fog filled valley in the front and imposing Chandrakhani on the far right. You can view the sunset with cold breezing going along. enjoy the evening bonfire with snacks and music. Dinner will be served hot and fresh at the high mountains and you will enjoy the meal under the stars.

Day 3- Chandrakhani Base Camp-Rumsu (8-10 hours)

8:00 am We will start the trek early as it is a long trek and we have to reach to the basecamp before sunset. The climb is not so tiring. We will return with the same views again, you will have another chance to see the mighty mountains and photograph the missed landscapes.

6:00pm Upon reaching Naggar, our Cars will be waiting for you to to transport you back to your hotel in Manali.

Good team, but all of them are too lenient on late comers….we had a great time, but were late by 4 hours at starting point itself and that resulted in our trek to Triund to start late afternoon instead of morning. Otherwise, very friendly n cooperative team and fun to travel with. Packages are quite competitively priced. All the best, will definitely join TDG for another trip in near future.
