A 5-Star Review: I have never left a review before but I felt I had to for these shoes. They are THAT good.
I usually wear an 8 so I ordered and 8 and they were perfect. I wore one pair of regular crew socks and I felt very comfortable with my feet in the shoes.

I got these on Friday and put them on Saturday for a 7+ mile hike in the hills of Kentucky. It was rainy and we walked through water several times. I actually had to stand in water for several minutes with my dogs once and my socks were COMPLETELY dry the entire time.
They are very light weight and as far as hiking boots go- they are stylish too.

I cannot say enough great things about these shoes. I was not expecting that much for that little of money but I will tell everyone I know about these shoes. They are AWESOME!

A Critical Review: This is a really attractive and quality shoe however I don’t believe it should be used as intended. There is absolutely no support in the shoes’ footbed. People requiring arch support beware.

A 5-Star Review: This is a great hiking boot. I almost always wear a size 7.5, but the 7.5 was too tight across the top of my foot. I returned it for a size 8 and they fit great. The shoes provide excellent support and grip, especially for the great price. I tend to always love Columbia brand gear and these shoes were no exception.

A Critical Review: I don’t like it not worth pricing

A 5-Star Review: I just started hiking so this is my opinion as a beginner. I normally wear 7-7.5. I ordered the hiking shoes in 8.5 and they were super comfortable, I cannot complain.
I went to Shenandoah National park and had many walks, from easy to moderate. I had zero problem to climb rocks and I always felt very stable. I am really happy with this purchase and I can only give a positive feedback.

A Critical Review: They look pretty but the sole isn’t cushiony nor a shock absorber, it feels too thin and like a cheap plastic.

A 5-Star Review: At 74-years old this is my first pair of hiking boots and I love them. I was wearing used fashion sneakers to mow the lawn and my feet were killing me. My feet don’t slide around in the boots and I needed the ankle support. They are waterproof and I get better traction on wet grass. They are too warm in the summer, but I feel much more confident walking in these boots. They are great when you shop in those giant block-long grocery stores too. I’ve received compliments on the style and color. Some said they make my foot look smaller. I wish I’d worn Columbia boots years ago.

Very comfy and reliable for my Boulder hikes now !!

Columbia Hiking Boots Women # 6) Columbia Women’s Redmond Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot, Breathable, High-Traction Grip

This boot is made with a waterproof and breathable material that will keep your feet dry and comfortable while you are out on the trails. The high-traction grip will give you the traction you need to stay safe on slippery surfaces.

A 5-Star Review: The shoe is sturdy and good looking. My foot seems to have grown lately, I’ve worn a 9 1/2 forever, my last 2 pairs of sneakers I had to order a 10. I ordered a size 10 of this Columbia Redmond and they are too snug, I’m not even sure if a 10 1/2 will be large enough but I will return for a larger size because I like them and they seem to be a pretty good shoe. The sole has NO cushion at all, they are very firm. The back of the shoe was rubbing a bit on my Achilles but I am hopeful its just because of the fact they are too snug for me. I will update this review once I receive the next size up
FOLLOW UP: the 10 1/2 was still to snug even with a very thin sock, they are also more narrow than I had thought, nice shoe but I am not going to order a size 11- will keep looking

A Critical Review: For those considering to buy these shoes here is my thought. I was looking for lightweight hiking mid shoe and found this on my search. I already had been to REI and have looked and tried all brands. But no hiking store had this one to try and liking so much the style I order it. Because I read the shoe run small I order half size bigger. I’m usually 9-9.5 so I ordered 10. It was too small. I’m not sure if a 10.5 or 11 would be the best fit or is it that the shoe is uncomfortable on the toe box. I really can’t tell. That is my first observation. Second observation is I really give 5 stars for it’s look. Really the look of the shoe is great and I haven’t seeing any other hiking shoe with this brilliant design. It’s almost like a low shoe but with just enough height on the ankle for support. Absolutely awesome and so much I wanted to love this shoe. But here is the third observation. As you walk with these shoes it makes an annoying squeaky sound. Unless you are in the trail you will be hearing this sound from these shoes. I couldn’t figure where the squeaky sound came from. I couldn’t see anything wrong with the shoe. It was glued properly, seemed well stitched I really couldn’t tell why! Fourth observation is that shoe traps on dirt on the out soles a lot. The good is that its nice grip on the trail but just load of dirt on them. I couldn’t stand the annoying squeaky sound and the discomfort on the toe box so I’m planning on selling them on ebay. I decided to pay a little more for a pair of Merrell’s zeolites I’m happy with. I think little extra money is worth for better quality hiking shoe.

A 5-Star Review: Columbia, you better not stop making them until I die. Ha!

A Critical Review: Really the shoes offer good fit and support for 3-6 months (I’ve owned 2 pairs). Then with daily use the support they offer dwindles quickly.

A 5-Star Review: I really like the look and color combo of these hiking boots.
I’ve used them a few times now and they are the best boots I have owned so far.
They were waterproof, I’ve walked through light puddles and have been in the rain with them.
The reason I didn’t rate them 5 stars is because I think they’re overall too heavy.
My feet get pretty warm/hot in them which I don’t want to complain about, just note.

Columbia Hiking Boots Women # 12) Columbia Women’s Facet 45 Outdry Hiking Boot

Facet 45 Outdry Hiking Boot

Product Summary: The Columbia Women’s Facet 45 Outdry Hiking Boot is a tough and durable boot that will keep your feet protected and comfortable on even the most challenging hikes. The boot’s water-resistant and breathable design will keep your feet dry, while the cushioned midsole provides all-day comfort. The tough rubber outsole provides great traction and stability on any terrain, and the boot’s stylish design will make you look great on the trail.

A 5-Star Review: I hiked 7mi in these and while I didn’t have sole pain I did have pain on the top of my foot and after I took off my shoes and socks I realized why – the top strap dug in. The top of the shoe where the straps go over is the “sock” same as the one that goes over the ankle. It affected both my feet but the left more than the right. In the photo it’s the large red spot – the small round red spots are mosquito bites from a different day.

Regarding fit – I normally wear 6.5 (23.8cm) but I figured I’d rather get a 7 to accommodate for additional insole and toe room. They were comfortable and fit fine. There is maybe 1cm of space after my big toe. I have a regular width foot, D shaped. I don’t think I’d have liked the 6.5 because my toe would probably be hitting the top.

I wore Smartwool light padded socks (cushion only on bottom) because we hiked in 90 degree weather but I think I’ll need to purchase the fully padded ones (cushion all around) now that I know it digs in like this. To be fair that was a lot of hiking, on a non flat trail.
With these socks, my feet were pretty warm but they weren’t super gross and sweaty.

I also hand washed them with just a brush and some regular detergent and they were very easy to clean, and none of the water came in so I’m confident these really are waterproof.

A Critical Review: I really love the way they look, but if you have any kind of arch on your foot they’re nearly impossible to get on. The hole is so small and the straps across the top don’t adjust or give any leeway. I can’t actually get my feet into them without undoing the straps, but then they don’t reattach once I’m in them. The quality of the shoe is good but they’re so difficult. I’ll have to return my pair. 🙁

A 5-Star Review: very comfortable, better than I expected

A Critical Review: Update

I really liked these at first. I wore them almost every day. They were comfortable. Now, almost a year later, they are no longer waterproof. I can’t even walk in the grass at the park after they water it, without getting soaked through on the toe box. Very disappointed in these.
