If you’re in the market for a good pair of hiking boots, you may want to consider Columbia Women’s Hiking Boots. I’ve had a pair of these for several years and they’ve served me well on many hikes, both short and long. They’re comfortable, offer good support, and have a decent price tag.

I like that Columbia offers a variety of hiking boots for women because it means that you can find a boot that fits your individual needs. For example, if you have narrow feet, you can choose from their selection of boots designed specifically for women with narrower feet. And if you need extra ankle support, they have boot options with higher ankle collars.

One thing to keep in mind when choosing any hiking boot is to make sure it fits well. A poorly fitting boot can cause blisters and other problems, so it’s worth taking the time to try on several pairs before making your final decision. But once you find the right fit, Columbia Women’s Hiking Boots will serve you well on the trails.

A Critical Review: I don’t like it not worth pricing

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots # 2) Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Lightweight Waterproof Shoe Hiking Boot

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots: Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Lightweight Waterproof Shoe Hiking Boot by Store Columbia Store

Product Summary: The Columbia Women‘s Newton Ridge Lightweight Waterproof Shoe Hiking Boot is a lightweight, waterproof boot that is perfect for hiking. The boot is made with a waterproof leather and mesh upper, and features a waterproof and breathable membrane, keeping your feet dry and comfortable all day long. The boot also has a cushioned midsole for added comfort, and a traction outsole for added grip and stability on all surfaces.

A 5-Star Review: I have never left a review before but I felt I had to for these shoes. They are THAT good.
I usually wear an 8 so I ordered and 8 and they were perfect. I wore one pair of regular crew socks and I felt very comfortable with my feet in the shoes.

I got these on Friday and put them on Saturday for a 7+ mile hike in the hills of Kentucky. It was rainy and we walked through water several times. I actually had to stand in water for several minutes with my dogs once and my socks were COMPLETELY dry the entire time.
They are very light weight and as far as hiking boots go- they are stylish too.

I cannot say enough great things about these shoes. I was not expecting that much for that little of money but I will tell everyone I know about these shoes. They are AWESOME!

A Critical Review: This is a really attractive and quality shoe however I don’t believe it should be used as intended. There is absolutely no support in the shoes’ footbed. People requiring arch support beware.

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots # 3) Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Boot Shoe

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots: Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Boot Shoe by Store Columbia Store

Product Summary: If you love spending time outdoors, you need a reliable, comfortable pair of hiking boots to help you make the most of your adventures. The Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Boot Shoe is designed to provide everything you need to enjoy your time on the trail. These boots are made with a waterproof leather and mesh upper to keep your feet dry, while the Omni-Grip outsole provides excellent traction on a variety of surfaces. The boots also feature a cushioned insole and a breathable mesh lining for all-day comfort. Whether you’re hiking through the woods or exploring a new city, the Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Boot Shoe will help you make the most of your time outdoors.

A 5-Star Review: I ordered a half size larger than my typical 9.5. The width of the shoe was fine for my feet. They are a tiny bit snug but, after I really break them in they should fit like a glove. I have the blue pair and the top of the boots are closer to a “hunter’s orange” meets peach than the
baby peach color that is shown. The blue/leather part of the shoe is pretty accurate. It is like a cobalt blue. The leather is suede like but, even though it feels super soft on the outside, it is supportive. I am about to put 17 miles on these shoes this weekend and I will update my review after the impending hike!

**Update**

Okay my final review…I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!! They kept my feet dry (lots of rain in the mountains this past weekend), and the boots quickly dried as well. I just left them outside of my tent and they would be dry. Let me clarify here, the boots were never drenched i.e. dumped in a river and hung out to dry kind of wet, just the normal splashing through puddles etc. These boots also clean up nicely, I used wet ones and a microfiber cloth and viola, clean!
My feet were never sore wearing these boots but, it still felt great taking off the boots after a long day of hiking. They kept my feet warm but not in the sense fur-lined boots would keep your feet warm. When I would take off my boots and socks at the end of the day my socks would be a little “damp”. Also no sweaty foot smell either.
The tread pattern on these boots handled rocks, mud, roots and steep climbs with ease, never once did I feel like my footing was going to slip.

A Critical Review: I have always loved Columbia products and purchased the “Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge plus Hiking Boot” for our 200 + mile Coast to Coast hike in the UK which we finished in 13 days in August, 2021, with 1 rest day. These were my main walking shoe. Pros: definitely water proof, sturdy and solidly made shoe. Cons: Not enough or proper padding, My feet ached after the first 14 mile day, and within 4 days I developed blisters on my pinky toes, the bottom of my left heel, had bruising on both middle toe nails, and sadly lost both of my second toenails and half of my left big toe nail after returning home. Being a prior ballerina I remembered we used lamb’s wool in our toe shoes for cushion to absorb the shock of dancing on our toes which gave me the idea around the 4th day of hiking through pastures amongst sheep to gather some clean wool off the ground. This helped so much!! Each day I used a bandaid or Kt tape to wrap the wool around my toes, my heel, the balls of my feet, and also placed some inside my sock to create padding over my toes protecting them from the hard top of the shoe. Had the boot had this kind of cushion my feet would have fared much better. As it is, I couldn’t wait to throw these boots away. My husband bought Salomon boots and he didn’t have one issue the entire 3 weeks we were away. I will definitely go with the Salomon’s next time although I still love Columbia products. I wore their SPF sun shirts on the hike and they were great.

A 5-Star Review: I was in a pinch as my daughter signed up last minute for a weeklong wilderness hiking adventure. Ordered these from Amazon using the measurement guide posted on Columbia site. The sizing was spot on. My daughter loved him so much I bought a pair for myself. They are just as comfortable as my Merrills that cost four times the price! Have ordered a pair for my whole family

A Critical Review: They look pretty but the sole isn’t cushiony nor a shock absorber, it feels too thin and like a cheap plastic.

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots # 6) Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Shoe

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots: Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Shoe by Store Columbia Store

Product Summary: The Columbia Women‘s Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Shoe is a great choice for any woman who loves to hike. These shoes are comfortable and stylish, and they will keep your feet dry and protected from the elements.

A 5-Star Review: The shoes fully met my expectations. I bought them for trekking in low and medium mountains and they were perfect. They don’t slip, they didn’t get wet inside even though they were buried in the snow, they didn’t cause pain or discomfort in my feet. I wear shoes between size 10 and size 11, depending on the last, I bought them size 10.5 and they fit well, with enough space for a thick sock. They have also been useful to me on rainy days in the city. The color is as shown. I will continue to buy this brand

A Critical Review: These boots in a wide width fit perfectly! I wore them on a short trail and they were comfortable. I didn’t feel any rocks under my feet. They didn’t rub my ankles either. Love the color I bought them in. Plus, Amazon delivered them in 2 days. It pays to spend more on a good, quality name brand boot with a solid positive reputation.

They weigh about one pound.

A 5-Star Review: I really like the look and color combo of these hiking boots.
I’ve used them a few times now and they are the best boots I have owned so far.
They were waterproof, I’ve walked through light puddles and have been in the rain with them.
The reason I didn’t rate them 5 stars is because I think they’re overall too heavy.
My feet get pretty warm/hot in them which I don’t want to complain about, just note.

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots # 8) Columbia Womens Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Shoe

Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Shoe

Product Summary: These shoes are the perfect blend of comfort and style. They are perfect for a day hike or just a casual walk around the block. They are waterproof and have a padded collar for added comfort.

A 5-Star Review: 99% of the time I’m a size 9..I read through the reviews and wasn’t sure if I should size up or not. The only shoes I ever did that for was my Nike free run 5 where I ended up getting a size 10. So being a prime member, love the free returns, I bought 9 & 9.5.

I’ll be going with the 9.5. I feel the slightest amount of pressure, and my big toe against the top of the boot in the size 9. I think that extra bit of room will make it better for the week long camping we’ll be doing in Iceland. And Yes the shoe is very stylish in person!! Will update my other review once my trip is taken (may 2017) to update on the performance.

Updated after trip:: Amazing pair of boots. No time needed to break in. However sometimes it does rub against one of my ankles…definitely wear high socks. Overall still very happy with the quality, style, and price, especially as I am only a moderate hiker. I’d purchase again.

A Critical Review: It’s a pretty heavy boot and can probably withstand a lot, but it’s also pretty uncomfortable. after a few hours, i couldn’t stand hiking in them anymore or nevertheless, walk in them. There seems to be very little feet support and probably a lot of breaking in needed, which wasn’t something I expected from the reviews I read. On the plus side, it went through mud, water, and those features did work well indeed.

A 5-Star Review: Wore these ladies in for my 10 day camping trip in Alaska trip and these boots were and continue to be amazing !! Wore in fully after about 20 miles with one blister – can attest that they are waterproof.
Very comfy and reliable for my Boulder hikes now !!

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots # 10) Columbia Women’s Redmond Hiking Boot

Women's Redmond Hiking Boot

Product Summary: The Columbia Women‘s Redmond Hiking Boot is a boot designed for hiking and other outdoor activities. It is made with a waterproof and breathable leather and mesh upper, and a Techlite lightweight midsole for long lasting comfort. The boot also features a nonmarking traction rubber outsole for superior grip on any terrain.

A 5-Star Review: I’m not being paid to write this or entering in any survey, I’m just writing because I love the shoes that much and hope to help someone as indecisive as I am.

I ordered these and a few other brands on a whim for a trip out west to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, and these beat the others by a long shot. I wanted a shoe that fit like a tennis shoe, was relatively flexible, had some arch support, and most importantly, gripped well on the bottom. We hiked several miles each day, and these were PERFECT.

Fit: Like other reviews state, do NOT order a half size up. I did thinking I would wear them with thicker socks, but even with hiking socks my usual size would have been perfect (I didn’t exchange them because we were leaving the next day, so if you realllly like to have some wiggle room in the toe, a half size up will work too).

Comfort: This is what really won me over. I wore these all day with no blisters! Sometimes I tend to get them on the bottoms of my feet if I get sweaty and my socks rub the wrong way. Even after 10+ hour days on my feet walking in sand and rocks and dirt, I didn’t get one. The arch support is nice too. My arches are pretty high and I was comfortable, but I could see how some people might want to add an insert for additional support.

Traction: Awesome! I felt comfortable walking, even jogging, down the side of a mountain in these. They do not have a lot of ankle support because they are a lower shoe, but they are flexible and have great tread on the bottom-I felt very “in control” when jumping on and over slippery rocks.

Water Resistance: I cannot attest to how waterproof these are because I did not get in the water.

All in all, this is a great little hiking shoe. Price point is lower than competitors, and my performance expectations were exceeded. You will not regret purchasing these!

A Critical Review: Really the shoes offer good fit and support for 3-6 months (I’ve owned 2 pairs). Then with daily use the support they offer dwindles quickly.

Columbia Womens Hiking Boots # 11) Columbia Women’s Facet 45 Outdry Hiking Boot

Women's Facet 45 Outdry Hiking Boot

Product Summary: The Columbia Women‘s Facet 45 Outdry Hiking Boot is a boot designed for the outdoors. It is made with a waterproof and breathable Outdry material, and features a comfortable and supportive fit. The boot also has a tractioncontrol outsole for stability on uneven surfaces.

A 5-Star Review: I hiked 7mi in these and while I didn’t have sole pain I did have pain on the top of my foot and after I took off my shoes and socks I realized why – the top strap dug in. The top of the shoe where the straps go over is the “sock” same as the one that goes over the ankle. It affected both my feet but the left more than the right. In the photo it’s the large red spot – the small round red spots are mosquito bites from a different day.

Regarding fit – I normally wear 6.5 (23.8cm) but I figured I’d rather get a 7 to accommodate for additional insole and toe room. They were comfortable and fit fine. There is maybe 1cm of space after my big toe. I have a regular width foot, D shaped. I don’t think I’d have liked the 6.5 because my toe would probably be hitting the top.

I wore Smartwool light padded socks (cushion only on bottom) because we hiked in 90 degree weather but I think I’ll need to purchase the fully padded ones (cushion all around) now that I know it digs in like this. To be fair that was a lot of hiking, on a non flat trail.
With these socks, my feet were pretty warm but they weren’t super gross and sweaty.

I also hand washed them with just a brush and some regular detergent and they were very easy to clean, and none of the water came in so I’m confident these really are waterproof.

A Critical Review: I really love the way they look, but if you have any kind of arch on your foot they’re nearly impossible to get on. The hole is so small and the straps across the top don’t adjust or give any leeway. I can’t actually get my feet into them without undoing the straps, but then they don’t reattach once I’m in them. The quality of the shoe is good but they’re so difficult. I’ll have to return my pair. 🙁

A 5-Star Review: I have been wearing these boots in snow and ice all winter in Colorado and love them. They are light but warm and the soles really grip the ice. i have worn them in water and mud and they are waterproof. They fit perfectly! I love them, and my husband love’s his in the men’s size too.
