Allahabad Fort-Monument of National Importance

Allahabad Fort, Allahabad is one of the most prized citadels of the Mughal Empire. The massive Allahabad Fort is believed to be originally built by The Great Ashoka and repaired by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1583. The largest fort built by Akbar stands proudly near the Triveni Sangam in Allahabad.
