Sur Sagar Lake in Vadodara

Sursagar lake which is also known as Chandan Talav is situated in the middle of Vadodara. The major attraction of this lake is the 120-foot tall statue of Lord Shiva which was installed by Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan in 2002. Turning the pages of history one hears the stories of Sureshwar Pandya who renovated the lake which was later named after him.

The lake is full of water all round the year and it is used for immersion of idols during various festivals. Sursagar lake is also used for boating and its view is phenomenal at night as the reflection of moonlight shimmers in the water. People of Vadodara enjoy their evenings while they sit on the concrete wall that rings the lake. Weekends are really special at Sursagar lake as beautiful lightings are done surrounding it. Sursagar Lake which is the heart of the Vadodara city is a must visit.
