Prinsep Memorial in Kolkata

Prinsep Ghat is one of the oldest and favorite recreational spots for the people of Kolkata. The James Prinsep Memorial Ghat of Kolkata overlooks the River Hooghly and was built in the memory of the eminent orientalist James Prinsep. The Prinsep Ghat comes to live in the evening when people visit the place with their family members to enjoy and have fun. People come with their kids to go on boating, short river cruises, stroll along the bank of the river and also enjoy some great food on the stalls there.

There is a 50-year-old ice-cream cum fast food joint near the Prinsep Ghat of Kolkata which is very popular among the crowds especially the youngsters. People also conduct rituals and take a holy dip at this place. The Ghat is connected to the other side of the city via Vidyasagar Setu which is famously called Second Hooghly Bridge. It is the longest cable bridge in India. People often come for a long drive here.
