A small green hamlet with the highest altitude and the coldest inhabited place in Nagaland. One can see people strolling the streets of Pfutsero for shopping during festive seasons especially during Christmas. It is a Christian hamlet with almost all the locals being Christians, predominantly Baptist, however there are also Roman Catholic, the Pentecost, and Revivalist.

The place is known for its vegetable and fruit products. During the nights in winter the temperature sometimes drops below 0º.
