Charar-e-Sharief is located on the way to Yousmarg while going from Srinagar. It is considered to be one of the most ancient shrines in the valley of Jammu & Kashmir. Once you get here you will be mesmerized by the sanctity of this place. Inheriting a 600-year old heritage, this historic shrine attracts a huge number of devotees.

Charar-i-Sharief was idealised and built to pay homage to one of the holy saints of Sufism – Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani, who is regarded as the patron saint of Kashmiris. Known as Sahajanand or Nund Reshi, he propounded the significance of Rishism in the valley of Jammu & Kashmir centuries ago. Since then it has been an important part of the culture of this place. After your visit to the shrine stroll across the wonderful famous mohallas here namely Talab-e- Kalan or Gulshanabad among many others.
