(Guided Kareri Lake Trek & Camping)
Kareri Lake Trek is the most distinguished trek near Dharamshala. The Kareri Lake is situated North West of Kareri Village and is at the foot of the Minkiani Pass. The short trek in the Kangra Valley is a blessing for trekkers, the Niyund stream flowing from the Kareri Lake stay with you throughout the trail.
You will explore the area and camp next to the wonderful streams. This long weekend trek from Delhi is approximately 14 kms from Ghera Village. The guided Kareri Lake Trek will enrich your trekking experience, with the song of mountains.
Pick up – Dharamshala Bus Stand

Itinerary / Tour Plan
Day 1- Drive from Dharamshala to Kareri Village
Early morning we leave for Kareri Village via Ghera, which will take upto 4 hrs. After rest and refreshments, we will trek to Rioti steep ascent through dense forest along the Liund river to Liyot. It will take another few hours. The trail goes along the river which has to be crossed a number of times over some improvised bridges and boulders. Meals and refreshments would be provided along with Bonfire.
Day 2: Rioti to Kareri Lake(3100m)
Duration: 4 hours
Today’s walk is not a very long walk. Kareri lake is small mountain lake at the base of Minkani pass. The lake keeps religious significance for the local people who come here on pilgrimage every year. Our tonights camp in an open meadow on the side of the lake with big views of Baleni Pass, Minkani pass and the valley below.

Day 3: Back to Ghera and Dharamshala/Mcleodganj
Duration: 4 Hours
Retrace Back to the trail we came from and reach back to Ghera Village, from there we head back to Mcleodganj on Jeeps, with wonderful memories and awesome pictures of the beautiful lake.

Good team, but all of them are too lenient on late comers….we had a great time, but were late by 4 hours at starting point itself and that resulted in our trek to Triund to start late afternoon instead of morning. Otherwise, very friendly n cooperative team and fun to travel with. Packages are quite competitively priced. All the best, will definitely join TDG for another trip in near future.
