Komic village also pronounced as Komik or Koumik village is renowned for being the highest village with a motorable road in Asia. This tiny and serene village is also believed to be the highest in the world. The views of the Komik village from the monastery with the snow capped mountain ranges in the background, the play of light & shadows on the mountain slopes, the furiously fluttering prayer flags were awe-inspiring to say the least. Next to the Komic monastery is a small hill with prayer flags on it. The prayer flags are clearly visible from the monastery area. We suggest that everyone should spend an afternoon sitting on this hill and see the sunset.

The picture perfect landscapes and scenery will make you fall in love in Hemis. The spellbound beauty of the mountains will end every noise in your mind and give your soul a rejuvenation. The village is at the edge of Hemis National Park which gives you a chance to spot the Snow Leopard here and other animals such as langurs, wolves, marmots, deers, red foxes etc. Apart from spotting Snow Leopard, Hemis is famous among the cultural explorers for it Losar celebrations. Losar (Tibetan New Year) is celebrated at Hemis in grand fashion for 2 weeks in December and January.

The warm land in the cold desert is a bliss. Chumathang is a village in Ladakh blessed to have the hot water spring along the banks of Indus(Sindhu) River. The village has limited stay options with few guest houses. Hot springs are surrounded by the hills and the uprising steam from the top of them is a delight to make videos and time lapses. The most majestic views of the Nubra Valley start from here. Diskit is the headquarter of the Nubra Valley region. The town is situated on the banks of Shyok river and unlike the other barren regions in Ladakh it does have green fields to add the beauty of the valley. The major attraction here the Red Maitrya statue, from there you will have the bird’s eye view of the town. To complete your Ladakh itinerary you will need to stay here for one night and enjoy the weather and clear sky. Diskit is also a nice spot for star gazing as with moderate temperature you can easily step out at night.

The village that gives you the perfect picture of Tso Moriri. Karzok village is a perfect example of how civilization is inhabited in High Himalayas. Many of the native here are the Changpa Nomads. Karzok is observed as one of the India’s highest permanent villages. Summer is the time when Changpa Nomads put up the camps at various places in their robos(small tents) and look after their flock to earn their bread. Their sheep produce the famous Pashmina, one of the costliest varieties of wool. Korzok meaning is “Middle of the Mountain” and it’s an excellent location to enjoy the lake side. The 500 years old monastery at karzok lies on the traditional trading route between Spiti and Ladakh, it was visited by many of the early explorers.
