The Motichur and Rajaji sanctuaries are contiguous, and are separated from the Chilla Sanctuary to the south-east by the Ganges River and the Chilla River.

Mindrolling Monastery at Dehradun

Mindrolling Monastery

Mindrolling Monastery was built as an attempt to re-establish the seat of His Holiness Dalai Lama who was in exile. As an initiative of a small group of monks, it took quite a while to build this one. His Holiness moved from Kalimpong to Dehradun in the year 1959. A place of immense beauty, being settled in the most natural surroundings that you can think of, Mindrolling Monastery is a major tourist attraction now.
