Shashur Gompa
Shashur Gompa
the 84 Siddhas of Buddhism, 5 meter tall Thangka and a statue of Namgyal. For adventure seekers, the route is full of hilly terrains and narrow valleys. The best time to visit is June and July when an annual festival is celebrated. Colourful dresses and masks are worn by monks and they perform the devil dance. As you make your way to the monastery through difficult tract, chortens and a beautiful mani wall will catch your attention. Inscribed on these stones is the extremely sacred Buddhist ritual mantra or invocation – OM MANI PADME HUM – The Jewel in the Heart of the Lotus.
