The National Zoological Park in Delhi is easily one of the most visited destinations in the city. Situated near the Old fort, this enclosure serves as an abode to many species of wildlife, guaranteeing their safety. This zoo was commissioned in 1952 by the Indian Board of Wildlife, who felt a need to build a zoo in Delhi.

This sprawling facility houses around 130 species of birds and animals. The zoo has many animals like hippos, lions, hyenas, jaguars and the famed White Tiger. The National Zoological Park actively participates in breeding of endangered species, especially blackbuck, Royal Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Lion and many more. This park sees visitors all year round. Locals frequently take to this park because it provides much needed recreation in the hectic city life.                         “I got more than what I had expected from here. The zoo is awesome, well maintain and very clean too. In this long walking area, You will not run out of drinking water as there are so many drinking water coolers located at different part of the zoo, and very nice place for photography. For photographers, I will suggest them to come with atleast 135mm lens, and will be better if you have more focal length. The zoo also have fast food stalls in it with reasonable pricing. In short, if you live in Delhi and love nature and photography, this is the place for you”

                        “It was the great experience to visit National Zoological Park. I was really happy to visit that park. The Park was very neat and clean. They had their own canteen inside the park that’s why I spent more than five hours. The location was superb to for photography, if u bring your 135 mm lenses than it is good. Its a nice place to shoot movie or documentary. To see the Royal Bengal was a great experience but the things I didn’t like that was there were too much dear. I was thinking for changing the name of park into Dear Park. The best thing was the name and description of every plants and animals was written near the animals.”
