A 5-Star Review: The day I got them I went up in the mountains and cut wood and walking carrying big logs, they have great support that’s important to me..

A Critical Review: I bought these boots to hunt in. The comfort is great, the fit is great, the price is great. I can walk in them for 12 hours a and feel good. The issue I had was walking through wet plants and grass (sometimes up to my hips) the boots got wet and soaked through after 6 hours. I didn’t step in any puddles or wading water. Just trekking through wet plants made my feet wet. By the time I was done my socks were 100% wet and the insole was squishy. I am still sold on the boot itself. Going to try a waterproof wax and test them out. Update to follow.

A 5-Star Review: I’m a sucker for UA boots! I tried both previous versions of the Valsetz boot but they weren’t comfortable enough to wear for multiple 12 hours shifts. The new version (this pair) blows the others out of the water! The comfort and styling are great!

A 5-Star Review: Since UA made the horrible decision to stop producing the “Speed-Freek” Lightweight Hiking boot of which I’ve owned 3 pairs, I thought I would try these out. Well these seem to be well built, but they are not lightweight at all and will only be good to wear in the cool/cold weather months. These boots are too hot to wear in warmer weather and much heavier than a hiking boot should be. I would classify these as more of a fall hunting boot. Unless UA comes to their senses and starts producing the Speed-Freek again? This will be my last purchase of a UA boot. What is important to remember is that weight, fit, shank, sole and comfort are extremley important in an everyday hiker. I’ve put a ton of miles on the Speed-Freeks, but I don’t believe I will be doing the same with these boots.

A 5-Star Review: Good feel to these shoes. Some people comment about the narrowness to the shoe … i do notice if i wear some standard socks it may feel a bit snug but if you wear slim low rider socks …. the narrowness feeling goes away. It totally goes away whether you wear slim socks or standard socks since it always takes time to break in any shoe you purchase. Happy with purchase in the end … just feel this particular UA shoe is over priced… if its because of the company that designed the soles, i feel it could be an un-needed perk compared to a standard UA rubber sole.

A Critical Review: Generally its all good.!! The only problem is the Size and notably the width of the front part which coincides to the widest part of the shoe maybe along the ball of the foot…I don’t get it that this has been an issue that a designer don’t realize( designer foot is to narrow) that donning the shoe it may fit well perfectly but once you step on it the fore foot expands and that’s the big problem the forefoot part of the shoe has no room to expand and puts pressure on the toe joints..as I said earlier length is fine…thanks…. wake up designer!!!

Under Armour Hiking Boots # 7) Under Armour Unisex-Adult HOVR Dawn Wp Hiking Boot

Unisex-Adult HOVR Dawn Wp Hiking Boot

Product Summary: Under Armour’s mission is to make all athletes better through passion, design and the relentless pursuit of innovation. The technology behind Under Armour diverse product assortment is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear when it’s hot, ColdGear when it’s cold, and AllSeasonGear between the extremes.

A 5-Star Review: I bought these for elk hunting in some tough terrain.
They were so light and made the stalking a bit easier.
At about day 5 they quit being waterproof. Not terribly, it would take most of the day of snow, creek crossings and walking thru the ice sludge before I would feel the wet getting in.
I wish they had a bit of a heel, but over all I was really happy with them.

Under Armour Hiking Boots # 8) Under Armour Men’s Micro G Valsetz Mid Lwp Hiking Boot

Men's Micro G Valsetz Mid Lwp Hiking Boot

Product Summary: The Men‘s Micro G Valsetz Mid Lwp Hiking Boot from Under Armour is a tough and rugged boot that can take on any adventure. It features a waterresistant and breathable upper to keep your feet dry, while the UA Micro G foam midsole provides cushioning and support. The TPU shank adds stability, and the Vibram outsole delivers traction and durability.

A 5-Star Review: After my previous Magnum boots were discontinued and I could not find a suitable replacement from that brand, I began on a hunt for new boots. There are a lot of boot manufactures out there and some work better than others. Danners do not fit my feet so those were out. 5.11 is overpriced and they are not really a boot company anyways. Solomans are way too expensive and too beefy. I ended up with Merrell vs. Bates vs. Under Armor. All three companies offered a different approach to boots and I would recommend others on a duty boot journey to consider the company and what you really need. Merrell is a hiking boot company so they make hiking boots. Bates is a value level duty boot company so they make affordable boots. Under Armor is a performance athletic company so they make more athletic style boots. I didn’t need a hiking boot so Merrell was out, Bates felt cheap so they were gone, so I went with UA in the end…however…

This is still an excellent boot. I ended up going with the regular Micro G Valsetz boots instead of the full leather ones. My feet just got too hot in these and I was barely doing anything other than trying them on. I imagine though that if your feet are often cold, these would be a good option for you. Well made and comfortable.

A Critical Review: Great boot, but for the amount of money I paid for them I’d expect them to last longer. Ordered in October of 2021 and I rotate back and forth between 2 pairs of boots. So I haven’t worn them every day. Thread on the bottom barely shows any wear and tear but the sole is separating from the boot already.

A 5-Star Review: Great shoe for those long days on your feet. Comfortable and light weight. I’ve worn them for a few weeks now and still feel just as comfortable. I’d recommend these shoes for those who like the feeling of walking on clouds.

Under Armour Hiking Boots # 11) Under Armour Unisex-Adult HOVR Dawn Wp 400g Hiking Boot

It is made with a waterproof leather and textile upper, and a 400g PrimaLoft insulation for extreme warmth in cold weather conditions. A 5-Star Review: They are tough, light, comfortable and stylish. I am a stump grinder and the slight higher top keeps out sawdust.

A Critical Review: I specifically got the bayou boots because of color scheme, greenish gold. I get the product and all the parts I expected to be gold like the sole, were a light brown like with the realtree boots.
False advertising or bad production.
Make regular colors, not stupid ass 3 toned nonsense. So sick of suffering everyone’s negligence.

Under Armour Hiking Boots # 12) Under Armour Men’s Verge 2.0 Mid Gore-tex Hiking Boot

Men's Verge 2.0 Mid Gore-tex Hiking Boot

Product Summary: Breathable and 100 percent waterproof gore-tex membrane is built to keep you dry at all times and is thoroughly tested to guarantee performance even after serious wear and tear. Lightweight, quick-drying breathable textile upper. Welded overlays for increased support and durability. Ess rock plate for protection, stability and incredible support. Lightweight eva midsole uses soft foam to provide great responsiveness, optimal cushioning and explosive energy return. Michelin outsole with wild gripper lug pattern on outsole for excellent traction on a variety of terrains. Offset: 8mm. Weight: 13.02 oz.

A 5-Star Review: I wear boots 6-7 days a week, 50-60+ hours a week. I’m working in a remote location in the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska. So I see a lot of cold weather, rain and snow. I need something comfortable, waterproof, and fairly warm.
These boots are definitely comfortable, and waterproof, but not the warmest.
The materials are pretty thin, to be honest. That does makes them super flexible, and light weight, but when walking in deeper snow, they are a little cold.
Also, I found the sizing to be a little snug. I’ve worn the same size shoe for the past 20 years, and these are one of the smallest running pair of shoes that I have ran across, in years. So if you plan on wearing these in colder locations, with thick socks, be warned.

For comparison, my last pair of boots where the Under Armour Men’s Infil Hike GORE-TEX. A lot to like about that boot as well. Again, another comfy boot with virtually no break-in needed. The downside was they only lasted about 9 months before they started coming apart, or I would have purchased them again. The laces on that boot also were very round and hard, and would NOT stay tied. The laces on the Under Armour Men’s Verge 2.0 Mid are much much better.

The Under Armour Men’s Verge 2.0 Mid can also be taken on and off without completely unlacing the top section of the boot. That’s a huge time saver, and allows you to just slip the boot on, cinch up the top few laces, and off you go.

Overall, In the 2 months of owning this boot, I’m more than happy with my purchase. lots of traction, lots of compliments, and just a boot that gets the job done, while you forget about them and get your job done.

Had to knock off a star for the thin materials in the cold weather, and running small. I will update my review as needed.

A Critical Review: These boots have potential, but they are to narrow in the front, slants inward around the ankle and run a half size to small, These boots need a revamp. The colors are nice, they are water proof, and they are super light weight.

Conclusion:

After testing out a pair of Under Armour hiking boots, it’s safe to say that they’re definitely worth the investment. They’re comfortable, supportive, and will keep your feet dry and comfortable no matter what the conditions are like outside. If you’re looking for a new pair of hiking boots, Under Armour should definitely be at the top of your list.
