City Palace

This palace was built in the 13th century and is also known as Kota Garh. The architecture and art is a combination of Mughal and Rajasthani style. The breath-taking beauty of Sheesh Mahal; having wall paintings made with glass murals, mirror walls, and mirror ceilings, hanging illuminated lights, floral decorations, marble floorings and fashioned entrance are Kota’s pride for its long-lasting and miraculous historical evidence. The palace has a lavish garden and a grand museum.

The museum encloses a unique collection of medieval weaponries, costumes, and apparels of erstwhile kings and queens. It is designed in monuments, apartments, and suits each displaying the artifacts and handicrafts of Kota’s preserved cultural heritage. There is also a vast collection of miniature paintings. The Darbar has silver Diwan and chairs, is ornamented with mirror walls and everlasting bright glass colors. The palace can be visited between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with a minimal entry fee of Rs.30 per head for adults and Rs.15 per head for children (for museum only) for foreigners the fee is Rs.300 inclusive of visiting the Badal Mahal. There is an additional fee for inside photography and special permission should be taken for commercial photography and visiting exclusive rooms.
