Nestled amidst snow clad Zanskar and Pir Panjal mountain ranges, the Tulian Lake is an Alpine Lake with a height of 3350 metres. This lake is imprinted on many of the tourism ads for Jammu and Kashmir. It is in he shape of the number '8.' The entire setting looks like straight something out of a fantasy world.
The lake is covered with floating ice for most of the year. The terrain around this lake is not favourable for travel. So if you want to hike till here, you better hire a guide because there are no marked trails and the population on this trail is very low. The lake is the perfect place to be in solitude as there is no human habitation around and you feel closer to nature than ever. This is a terrific destination where you can experience the untouched nature in all its glory.
