Zoravar Fort

The Zorawar Fort was built by General Zorawar Singh in 1836. This beautiful fort is spread over 27.2 acres of land and is surrounded by a boundary wall which is 15 feet high. This fort was built for the primary purpose as a base to sustain troops in ladakh. The entrance to this fort is through a wooden bridge and inside the fort there are stables for horses and barracks for the men. There also resides a temple and a mosque which were also built by Gen Zorawar Singh. currently this fort is under the control of the Indian Army and there is a museum inside dedicated to General Zorawar.
